Our prayer this week:  Merciful Lord, as we come from dust and return to dust, show us the face of our Redeemer, that in our frailty we may bless your name and praise you all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Praying for our village:  Thank you for continuing to pray.  This week we pray for the residents of: Coombe Park, Grove Road, High Street, Manor Road, Mountfield Road.

Music Night: Wednesday 20th September 2017 at 7.00pm in the church hall.  The cost is £1.00 per person including tea/coffee and biscuits.

PCC Meeting; this will be held on September 18th 2017. We invite everyone to evening prayer at 7pm in the church before the meeting. We also ask that you pray for the meeting.

 Advance notices:

23rd September 2017 – Macmillan and IW day in Wroxall. Please give your full support to this very worthwhile event. The day begins with a Coffee morning in St John’s Church Hall between 10am and 12 noon. You can then go to the Methodist church hall for a delicious ploughman’s lunch between 12 noon and 2pm. Then you can return to St John’s Church Hall for a Cream Tea between 2.30 pm and 4.30pm. There will be a tombola, raffles and lovely things to eat. Cancer touches us all and the work undertaken by the Macmillan charity is very special.

24th September 2017 – Songs of Praise for Isle of Wight Day. 4pm at Cowes Enterprise College.  Tickets £2.50 each online at isleofwightday.com/songs-of-praise.

HARVEST WEEK: Oct 1st A  reminder that next month’s All-Age Worship is the Harvest Thanksgiving Service.  Please bring your gifts to that Service – non-perishable items will go to the IOW Foodbank and perishable items will be sold with the proceeds being donated to Foodbank.  In the afternoon there will be Evensong at 4.00pm;  Friday 6th October 7.30pm A Concert by the Scottish Fiddlers;  Saturday 7th October Harvest Supper (watch this space!) 8th October 3.00pm Songs of Praise.

18th November 2017 – Christmas Bazaar

Tea/coffee and biscuits are served in the church hall after this Service.  Come and join in the chat!
